Ninja Theory: We have no capacity for Enslaved 2

Ninja Theory has abandoned plans to expand its studio workforce to take on two projects at once, an executive at the studio has said.

It means the British independent group will not be working on a sequel to the action game Enslaved, as resources focus on the Devil May Cry project for Capcom.

Enslaved has sold around a million units worldwide, according to MCV deputy editor Chris Dring.

Studio co-founder Tameem Antoniades said the game’s commercial performance “should have been better".

"Right now we should have been doing a sequel and perfecting that sequel and doing what franchises do, which is get better over time,” he told Edge.

"Because that didn’t happen we’ve not expanded to two teams like we intended to. So we’ve remained a smaller shop. But now we get another chance with Devil May Cry."

It is not known if the Enslaved sequel has been shelved indefinitely.

Enslaved won Ninja Theory a Develop Award for Best New IP in July.
