Valve expanding presence at GDC

No Steam Dev Days this year

There will not be another Steam Dev Days conference in 2015, Valve has confirmed.

Last year the event attracted around 1,200 developers as the firm showed off its Steam Machines, controller and OS, and also discussed virtual reality.

But Valve has now confirmed to Gamasutra that the event will not be repeated this year, and instead the company will expand its presence at GDC. Further Steam Dev Days may take place in future years however.

"Steam Dev Days was a great way to brief a large number of Steam developers," read a statement.

"This year our focus will be a bit different, so we are planning a larger than usual presence at GDC. So, there will not be a Steam Dev Days this year, but we will certainly consider doing it again in the future."
