Nominations open for 2014 GamesAid charities

Members of games industry charity GamesAid can now put forward organisations for possible support this year.

This process opened on Monday August 4th, and will close on Monday August 18th. Any member of the charity may put an organisation forward.

Charities put forward should focus on helping disadvantaged or disabled children or young people, have an annual turnover of £5m and have administrative costs of less than 30 per cent.

In order to nominate a charity, just send an email to gamesaidnominations2014@gmail.com stating the organisation’s name, charity number, your reason for nominating and your contact details.

Once nominations close a long list will be formed and between September 1st and 8th members will be asked to vote. The five charities that receive the most votes will receive one fifth of GamesAid’s total funds.

In 2013 GamesAid raised £260,000 – the result of last year’s vote was the donation of £52,000 to LifeLites, Special Effect, Action for Kids, MAPS and Safe at Last.
