Outsourcer worked on game environments and provided project management tools

Obsidian collaborated with Streamline on Pillars of Eternity

Obsidian Entertainment outsourced some of its development on Pillars of Eternity to Malaysian outfit Streamline Studios.

The company worked on creating the environment’s for each of the game’s various races. Obsidian also used the firm’s new cloud-based project and pipeline management tool Streamframe to monitor production progress during development.

Streamline is continuing to work with Obsidian on an as yet unannounced title. Its Streamframe tool meanwhile is currently in preview-release.

“Streamline Studios has an amazing pedigree, and for Pillars of Eternity we really wanted an outsourcing partner that just got game development, could produce quality content while being fully transparent”, said Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart.
