Baverstock, DeLoura, and Moledina back de Ronde's charity games development effort

OneBigGame names board of directors

OneBigGame, the charity games firm which we revealed last year was planning to open a casual games portal, has named its board of directors.

Key names from the games industry have been drawn to the project with Mark DeLoura, videogame technical Consultant, Jamil Moledina, executive director of the GDC and Ian Baverstock, CEO of Kuju Entertainment and chairman of TIGA all joining the project. Develop conference director Susan Marshall is assistant director of the project.

They all join Martin de Ronde, chairman, who founded the organisation a year ago. The Guerilla co-founder believes that video games are ‘perfectly placed to raise funds for charity as well as raise awareness among audiences for the causes it supports’.

Last year de Ronde told Develop that the first step was to open a casual games portal, through which famous designers’ side projects and minigames would be sold for charity.

"OneBigGame is basically a global platform that will allow game developers to use their creative resources to do something good for the world," he said.

"I am delighted to be joined by a group of esteemed professionals with such diverse industry experience. Establishing our board of directors to work side-by-side our equally senior advisory board marks the completion of our organizational structure and ensures that we can confidently look forward to our launch later this year."
