Money will incentivise developers to create jobs in the Canadian province

Ontario reveals $1.15bn fund for games developers

Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has unveiled a $1.15bn fund to encourage developers in the region to create more jobs.

The fund, called ‘The Next Generation of Jobs Fund’, is aiming to encourage more businesses to go green, create jobs or open offices in the province.

Gamasutra reports that the authorities in the region say it has "most generous R&D tax credits of any G7 country," with savings of over 60 per cent.

Ontario and Canada will end up "dominating the world when it comes to creating video games" they say.
