Developer of Super Monkey Ball for Apple device wants to build on past week's success

Other Ocean opens iPhone division

Not satisfied that the iPhone game it made for Sega has become the most downloaded App from iTunes, Super Monkey Ball developer Other Ocean has opened a division that will be dedicated to making games for the platform.

Based at its Prince Edward Island, Canada studio, the iPhone division will be headed by technical director Gordon Wood and Super Monkey Ball senior artist Chris Sharpley.

"Our experience working with Apple’s SDK has been extremely positive and the iPhone, with its accelerometer, opens up exciting opportunities for game development on this platform," explained Wood.

"The iPhone platform has generated a lot of attention and people are excited for the opportunities that lie ahead."
