US retailers, including Amazon and GameStop, line up to stock console

Ouya confirms June launch

The $100 games console, Ouya, is headed to retail, its maker has confirmed today.

US retailers including Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy and Target will stock the Android-powered console, thanks to the consumer response to the device.

Ouya is due to launch publically in June, but Kickstarter backers are still expected to receive their console before it hits stores.

Ouya can be pre-ordered from its official website for $99.99. For that price, users get the console, one wireless Bluetooth controller, a power adopter (region specific), two AA batteries and a HDMI cable. Additional controllers can be purchased for $49.99.

Recently, Ouya’s controller was redesigned with some tweaks to improve its quality and responsiveness.
