Android-powered microconsole will hit more store shelves this month

Ouya set for European launch

The Ouya microconsole will arrive in mainland Europe later this month, following its US and UK launch earlier in the year.

The crowdfunded console has hit some rough waters since then and has faced its share of controversies, but the company is pressing on to launch in Western Europe in partnership with Flashpoint and Digital Brothers.

Ouya says the launch will include Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Benelux, Norway, and Denmark, as well as Scandinavia.

Since Norway and Denmark are both Scandinavian countries, there aren’t a lot of choices left and it’s safe to assume Sweden will be included, but Finland and Iceland are less sure.

The company will work with another two distributors, Action and P.A, in Eastern Europe but hasn’t revealed just which countries will be targeted.

At the moment, the Android-powered console has a library of 457 games, all of which are available to users to try for free.
