Independent publisher and developer puts sales platform in beta

Paradox launches web store

Swedish publisher and developer Paradox Interactive has launched its own web-store.

The developer of Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, and Wars of the Roses has long been a champion of independents, but this move places the company a step closer towards true freedom from platform holders.

The Paradox Web Shop, currently in beta, still relies on Steam for distribution, but its own storefront means the company controls visibility; quite important when everyone and their free-to-play cousin is jockeying for position on Valve’s platform.

To celebrate the launch, all games purchased through the store are offered at a 55 percent discount.
