PAX Australia’s Indie Showcase 2014 revealed

The most deserving six indie games in Australia and New Zealand have been selected by PAX Australia judges.

As with last year’s inaugural Australian PAX show (and the first PAX to be held outside of the US), the six winners will be given a free both in the main expo hall at the show and will be given the red carpet treatment, being actively promoted by PAX before, during and after the event.

The winners are:

Airscape: The Fall of Gravity – a gravity-bending platformer from Wollongong.
Assault Android Cactus – a top-down co-op shooter from Witch Beam Software.
Expand – an abstract circular puzzler from a programming duo from Adelaide.
Gunscape – a toolbox which gives players classic weapons, enemies and more to make their own shooter.
Screen Cheat – a split-screen FPS where everyone is invisible and you have to screen cheat to win.
Wave Wave – a manic abstract arcade runner from a solo artist in Melbourne.

"These six games give a great example of the diversity and quality of titles being made, and it’s a great way to showcase our talents," Guy ‘Yug’ Blomberg, PAX Australia’s Content and Community Manager told Develop, "not just at PAX Aus, but to the rest of the world too."

"The quality of games submitted this year was staggering, and a true indication of just how creative the Aus/NZ game development scene is."
