Perforce engine declared ‘VMware ready’

Version management tools company Perforce has had its Versioning Engine approved as ‘VMware ready’.

The designation indicates that Perforce’s tech is now part of the can be found on the VMware Solution Exchange, which sees products approved as compatible with VMware cloud solutions made available through the Technology Alliance Partner program.

"By using Perforce with VMware vSphere enterprises can benefit from more efficient resource allocation, increased service levels, optimised storage use and lower costs," said Randy DeFauw, technical marketing manager at Perforce Software. "While Perforce has been deployed on virtual machines for years, this certification shows our commitment to supporting enterprise virtualisation infrastructures."

“We are pleased that the Perforce Versioning Engine qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has met specific VMware integration and interoperability standards and works effectively with VMware cloud infrastructure, which will speed time to value within customer environments,” added Sheryl Sage, director, Alliance Programs, VMware.

VMware’s business is built around virtualisation and cloud infrastructure, with a view to supporting companies as they adopt a cloud model.
