Version management software provider and awards finalist bringing two start-ups to next week's ceremony

Perforce names winners of Develop Awards competition

Some of may recall that last month Perforce launched a competition, giving gaming start-up the chance to win one of two tickets to the 2014 Develop Awards in Brighton. Well, the results are in.

Perforce will be bringing Kinesthetic Games and I Fight Bears as its guests to the awards ceremony, which takes place at the Brighton Hilton Metropole on Wednesday, July 9th.

Kinesthetic Games is the studio behind motion-controlled action game Kung Fu Superstar, while I Fight Bears created Fist of Awesome, a music track from which is shortlisted for the new Musical Composition award. Perforce is also a finalist in the Tools – Production category.

The competition was to complete the sentence "We should be at the Develop Awards because…", with the tickets going to the best answers.

"We wanted to give indie companies and other small shops the opportunity to network with other larger gaming companies at this prestigious event," said Perforce’s European marketing director Mark Warren. "The two winners were each honest and very amusing with their entries."

For the record Kinesthetic’s answer was "because this time next year we’ll be no doubt receiving a Develop award, so it’ll be good to get a close-up feel for what that’s like". I Fight Bears, meanwhile, went with "because there should be qualified personnel ready to handle the ever-present danger of wild bears gate-crashing the party".

The Develop team already feels a lot safer.
