Philadelphia hosts skyscraper-sized game of Tetris

Philadelphia has played host to one of the largest games of tetris ever, on a skyscraper.

As reported by the Associated Press, the giant game of Tetris was played out on the 29-storey Cira Centre building, measuring 437 feet high, using 1,400 LED lights already embedded into the building. Players used joysticks to control the pieces.

The spectacle marks the upcoming 30th anniversary of the hit game, and also signals the start of Philly Tech Week.

The giant game of Tetris was led by Drexel University professor and game designer Frank Lee.

"This project began as a personal love letter to the games that I loved when I was a child – Pong last year, Tetris this year. But it ended up as a way of uniting the city of Philadelphia," said Lee.
