Online PC game developed in tandem with Sonyâ??s motion picture

Planet 51 powered by Trinigy

Spanish developer Zed Games has licensed Trinigy’s Vision Engine for the development of its online PC game Planet 51.

Planet 51 is the name of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s upcoming animated motion picture, set for release across movie theatres in November.

Ilion Animation is currently working on the film’s production, while its sister company Zed Games is developing the online PC game in parallel.

With contemporaneous game and film releases tending to exert pressure on dev teams and production studios to keep pace, Zed Games claimed that the Trinigy Vision Engine has been key in accelerating development.

“Trinigy has proven time and again that its flexible game engine is the premiere development platform for console and online games alike,” said Christopher Head, director of production innovation at Zed.
