Former Kabam exec and Cover Fire CEO Chris Ko joins advisory board

PlayFab adds new support and analytics tools to its back-end services

PlayFab has added an array of new tools to its back-end services to improve analytics and support for live games.

The new Game Manager 2 allows developers to configure, launch, monitor and support games after release, and has been redesigned to offer tools for designers, product managers and customer service representatives.

Cloud Script meanwhile now lets users update games more easily without having to go through recertification, and server authentication is also said to help protect against client-side cheating.

PlayFab has also expanded its analytics tools so devs can segment players, target push notifications and analyse game performance with cohorts, funnels and behaviours.

As well as adding a number of new tools to its services, PlayFab has signed a partnership with free-to-play consultancy Cover Fire, which will see its CEO and Kabam’s former head of North American Studios Chris Ko join its advisory board.
