Developer's games such as Bejewelled, Zuma and co. set for PS2 and Xbox 360 release

PopCap to release best casual games at retail

Casual games developer PopCap is going to release two new greatest hits compilations for consoles.

PopCap Arcade Vol 1 heads to 360 containing Bejeweled 2, AstroPop, Feeding Frenzy and Zuma, while PopCap Hits Vol 1 for PS2 boasts Bejeweled 2 and AstroPop. All the games have of course has extremely profitable runs available for download via the likes of PC and XBLA. According to PopCap ‘the Bejeweled franchise alone has placed PopCap at the forefront of the burgeoning casual games industry’.

“We’re very excited to be bringing some of our top million-selling casual games to consoles via retail shelves, and eager to see how consumers respond,” said Glenn Drover, Director of Retail Sales at PopCap. “We’ve had tremendous success at retail with the PC versions of many of our games, and these new collections for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2 are priced even more aggressively, so they should be a hit with holiday shoppers.”
