Pixel Shader 2.0 support heads improvement charge

ProFX hits version 2.6

Allegorithmic has upgraded its procedural texturing system ProFX to version 2.6.

Alongside optimisations to the core system, ProFX 2.6 now supports Pixel Shader 2.0-based chipsets, significantly expanding the number of systems that can benefit from ProFX’s enhanced performance on GPUs.

“ProFX continues to garner recognition as robust and powerful middleware for authoring and rendering high-quality procedural textures,” said Dr. Sebastien Deguy, president and founder of Allegorithmic.

“ProFX 2.6 demonstrates our commitment to provide innovative solutions that enable game studios to create richer environments and enter a new world of digital distribution without the hurdles of transferring and storing large texture files.”
