NetDevil says the networking tech was 'a core piece of the project'

RakNet integrated with LEGO Universe

Colorado, US, developer NetDevil has announced it partnered with Jenkins Software to use the RakNet networking engine in its latest title, LEGO Universe.

RakNet was employed in the LEGO Universe MMO to support the game’s networking and object replication, NetDevil said.

“We used RakNet on LEGO Universe from the beginning and it has always been one of the core pieces of the project," says NetDevil senior programmer Ian Guthrie.

RakNet, a game networking engine built for C++, also supports Xbox 360, Linux, Mac and iPhone development.
