Foam Sword seeking £100,000 on Kickstarter to create Knights and Bikes

Ratchet & Clank, Tearaway and LittleBigPlanet devs announce first game

Foam Sword, the side-project studio founded last year by Media Molecule developers Rex Crowle and Moo Yu, has revealed its first title.

Knights and Bikes is a co-op action adventure game set on the island of Penfurzy, just off the coast of Cornwall.

Set in the 1980s and inspired by films and games from the time such as The Goonies, ET and Earthbound, the title stars two female protagonists, Nessa and Demelza, who utilise child-like skills and items such as bikes, Frisbees and games consoles to defeat some evil spirits.

It features local co-op, combat mechanics, a quest system and exploration.

It will be scored by composer Daniel Pemberton, who previously worked on movies such as Steve Jobs and The Man From UNCLE , as well as LittleBigPlanet.

Foam Sword has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund Knights and Bikes, looking for £100,000.

It includes multiple reward tiers, including the £5,000 ‘Developer for a Day’ rank and the £3,000 chance to design an enemy.
