Studio head tells Develop that staff are hopeful

Razorworks chief: ‘We are examining options’

Razorworks studio manager Kevin Bezant has told Develop that the studio remains hopeful that it won’t have to shut down.

"The situation here is that the team have been put in 30 days notice – a consultation period – while Empire looks at options for the studio," he told us.

"In the meantime, we’ve been getting a lot of interest and support from other teams within the industry, so we’ll just have to see how it goes, really. But the truth of the matter is that we’re just looking at options at the moment – hopefully something will turn up.

"We’re hoping that something good will come out of this," he added. "It’s much easier to tear something down than build it up, and we’ve spent eleven and a half years building this up. At the moment, staff here are just looking at the options we have going forward and hope that something gets sorted out for us."
