Gareth Lewis to oversee development at Plymouth-based studio

Remode hires ex-Lionhead dev as technical director

Remode has hired former Lionhead engineering manager Gareth Lewis as its new technical director.

Lewis will oversee development at the Plymouth-based studio, which is currently working on titles such as strategy game Burrow.

He will officially join Remode as technical director on August 27th.

“I have known Ella and Martin for almost a decade, and watched with deep admiration and respect as their studio Remode has grown,” said Lewis.

“I am looking forward to overseeing development across the full roster of our games, and am particularly excited about working closely with the team on Remode’s upcoming release Burrow – watch this space!”

Remode CEO Ella Romanos added: “We have been looking for a new technical director to join our team for some time and Gareth could not be more perfect. His expertise at Lionhead is incredibly valuable to us, in particular as we are focusing on advanced stages of game development for Burrow, which will be out next year.”

Lewis has most recently been working as MD of consultancy firm GazCorp and an associate lecturer at the University of Plymouth, offering lecturing on Kinect programming with XNA 4.0.

He has also had stints working with Tangentix, University of Westminster, Climax, Hotgen and Supermassive Games.
