Studio removes Galactic Reign from Windows Store four months after release

Report: Slant Six closes its doors

Slant Six games is removing Galactic Reign from the Windows store just four months after launching the strategy title.

The news, posted on the Xbox forums, could suggest the Vancouver-based studio is in trouble yet again and has possibily shut its doors for good.

Slant Six has been through three rounds of layoffs in as many years, with the latest set of “temporary layoffs” going into effect in April of this year as part of the studio’s transition from console to mobile games.

These layoffs were rumored to include most of the studio, and now Eurogamer cites Twitter activity from multiple sources claiming the studio has closed.

"Sad to hear that Slant 6 closed their doors," reads one Tweet from the Vancouver-based Firebase Industries.

Whether or not Slant Six is closing, the forums will remain open through the end of the year.

"The forums will remain available until the end of the year, so that players can still communicate and exchange contacts. We will also continue support the Facebook and Twitter channels from now until server closure," reads the Xbox forum post.

"We are proud of the game we created and are thankful to our passionate community. We hope you have gotten many hours of enjoyment out Galactic Reign and will continue to do so until the end of this year."
