2K Czech creating animations for general gameplay and cut scenes, claims source

Reports: Mafia II dev collaborating on GTAV

Mafia II developer 2K Czech is collaborating with Rockstar on the development of Grand Theft Auto V, according to a report.

A source speaking to VG247 said that the Czech studio was creating animations for in-game cut scenes and general gameplay.

2K declined to comment on the rumours.

The source also claimed that the collaboration was part of Take Two’s plan to make the Mafia games into a “major franchise”, with development on Mafia III currently underway.

No details were given on the project, although 2K were allegedly in attendance at the rumoured Xbox next-gen console summit “Durango” in London.

GTAV was announced in November via a trailer, but information such as target platforms and a release date have yet to be revealed.
