Nuclear Division developing games and tech

Respawn founder Vince Zampella forms new mobile studio

Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella has formed a new mobile game studio called Nuclear Division.

Speaking to Venturebeat, Zampella said he would continue on in his role as head of the Titanfall developer, but will also act as investor, adviser and board member for the new LA-based company..

The studio has also been co-founded by the ex-product head of slot machine firm WMS Larry Pacey.

Although Zampella didn’t go into specifics, he said Nuclear Division would be working on new technology for mobile as well as games that harness the new tech.

The studio currently employs less than a dozen people, but could eventually house 50 staff.

“The goal is to build the kind of product that Vince and I know,” said Pacey.

“It is based on things we like, and is more for the core gamer. If you look at our careers, we like to find new players experiences that are differentiated and unique.”
