Studios will give everything to charity on July 15th, Yogscast and Escape Technology also on board

Revolution Software, Payload and more back SpecialEffect’s One Special Day

Games industry charity SpecialEffect has received more support for its upcoming One Special Day initiative.

The venture encourages games firms – including developers, publishers, media and service providers – to donate 100 per cent of their revenue to charity just for one day. Specifically, July 15th.

This doesn’t have to be absolutely everything. It can be 100 per cent of sales for just one game or a selection, or all advertising revenue, or all money generated from in-app purchases or DLC.

Revolution Software, the studio run by industry veteran Charles Cecil, is one of the latest to back One Special Day, along with TerraTech developer Payload Studios, popular YouTube crew Yogscast and Escape Technologies.

“As long-time supporters of SpecialEffect, we’re delighted to be joining the One Special Day line-up, helping to turn sales of TerraTech into magic moments for people with disabilities,” said Payload founder Russ Clarke.
