Studio had recently finished work on the Rogue Warrior project

Rumour: Rebellion’s Derby studio closes

[UPDATE – Rebellion confirms Derby studio restructure]

Speculation is circulating that Rebellion’s satellite studio in Derby has closed down.

The studio is not to be confused with Rebellion’s Oxford offices, where the longstanding company was founded back in the early nineties.

Rebellion’s co-founding brothers, Jason and Chris Kingsley, purchased the Derby offices back in 2006, taking the facility from original Tomb Raider developer Core Design.

The Derby studio had recently finished development on the third-person action title Rogue Warrior, a game which debuted in 33rd place in the Xbox 360 charts, and missed the top 40 all-format charts altogether.

Calls to Rebellion were unanswered at the time of going to press.
