â??Europe has tremendous growth potentialâ?? says free-to-play MMO specialists NHN

S.Korean MMO group targets Europe

Leading South Korean MMO group NHN is preparing to push west with the imminent arrival of its new games portal in Europe.

"Europe has tremendous growth potential that is too often overlooked by international MMORPG publishers," said NHN’s head of overseas business development Dongmin Lee.

"We understand the opportunities the European market presents," he added.

NHN is a well-established company behind key internet services in Korea and across Asia.

The group is responsible for the most successful online games portal in Asia, Hangame, as well as Naver, Korea’s leading search portal. The group has previously launched a number of game services across Japan, China and North America.

However, details of the group’s first European push have yet to be disclosed, though a company statement claimed that such details will be announced “shortly”.

"We are incredibly excited about launching in Europe,” added Lee. "The challenge of offering state-of-the-art service quality in a multilingual and multicultural context is huge, but we believe so are the rewards for companies who commit to serve their European players. As a service-oriented business, we are really looking forward to forging a relationship with the diverse European community."
