Company unveiling tech at CES

Scaleform to reveal new â??mobile-optimisedâ?? UI tool

Scaleform, an industry-leading UI tools company used in a wide range of games from Batman Arkham Asylum to Street Fighter 4, will unveil the next edition of its technology at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Scaleform GFx 4.0 will remain based on Flash, the firm has announced, but will be “optimised for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android devices.

The Company says its latest tech is “most significant improvement we’ve made since the initial release nearly five years ago”. It will feature a new multi-threaded OpenGL/D3D graphics system, which is said can improve performance five-fold. Also added in is Flash 10.1 ActionScript 3 (AS3) compatibility.

“We’re particularly excited to showcase our new Flash 10 based Phone Kit running on Android and iOS devices, which demonstrates the type of high performance content, animation and effects that are now possible with Scaleform GFx 4.0,” the firm said.

The Consumer Electronics Show runs January 6th – 9th in Las Vegas.
