Publisher will "continue to build studios" - focus on low-cost locations

SCi results reveal development ramp up

Britsoft publisher SCi this morning revealed its full-year financials, in which it restated its commitment to growing its development resource.

In a statement with the official reports, CEO Jane Cavanagh commented: "Over the year our in house development resource is over 600 employees and we expect to continue to build our studios in terms of size and skills, especially in locations that allow us to keep development costs low."

The studio already owns Crystal Dynamics in the US plus UK teams Beautiful Game Studios and Pivotal – but it recently opened a studio in Montreal, and has a development team in Hungary.

Its New Media group also acquired Rockpool Games, Bluefish Media and Morpheme this year, which SCi said "demonstrates our belief that online connectivity and mobile games represents a significant opportunity to grow our revenue streams over the next cycle".
