Mochi Media parent company preparing to launch its first iPhone games in 2012

Shanda ‘planning iPhone and Android dev buyouts’

One of China’s biggest online games companies is preparing to acquire a number of iPhone and Android developers, according to reports.

Alan Tan, the CEO of games giant Shanda, was quoted as saying his company is planning expand its mobile games division and, as part of this, purchase studios that develops iPhone and Android games.

Shanda will offer its first iPhone titles in 2012, Tan was paraphrased by Bloomberg News as saying.

Last year, the Shanghai-based Shanda spent an estimated $200 million on acquisitions, including the purchase of Mochi Media – thought to be world’s largest browser-based games network.
