Yu Suzuki 'researching possibility' of developing new game in series

Shenmue III could be crowdfunded on Kickstarter

The Shenmue III dream is still alive.

When asked by Eurogamer whether he’d consider taking to crowdfunding site Kickstarter to finance a third entry in the Shenmue series, series creator Yu Suzuki answered: "Yes. I am researching it."

Of course, it would have to be a phenomenally successful Kickstarter to fund a project that matched the originals, which reportedly cost $70m to develop.
