Some questions still remain as to how soon Microsoft's recently launched Vista OS will deliver as a games platform, but a team from Glasgow already has one answer - it's casual game is one of the first available for the operating system.

Slam gives Vista some Spin

Slam’s puzzle/word game Spinword is one of the Vista Showcase Games, available for Vista via the MSN Games portal.

The game debuted at CES in Januar and Microsoft’s Casual Games team have dubbed it "an excellent example of a simple, fun and compelling game, with a very broad appeal".

“It’s a really exciting time for us," said Slam’s Linda McKellar. "With Spinword we have created something quite special. It’s a new type of word game which combines puzzle and word building with fast-action. We think it will appeal to everyone, whether they play casual games or console games, or no games at all."
