Masahiro Sakuraiâ??s new studio Sora becomes a first party Nintendo developer

Smash Bros creator working on new title

The creator of both the Smash Bros series and popular Nintendo character Kirby is working on a brand new title for Nintendo, it has been confirmed.

Kotaku reports that Masahiro Sakurai’s new studio Sora Ltd, which was founded last month, is now officially a first party Nintendo developer, and is already hard at work on its first title – Project Sora.

Nintendo owns 72 per cent of the company, which currently employs 30 members of staff and is recruiting for more.

Little is known of Project Sora at the moment, though Sakurai did say “I can promise an experience that’s different from anything you’ve played up until now”.
