Spil Games takes on new art director

Mobile and online publisher Spil Games has appointed a new global art director in an effort to boost its mobile output.

Aaron Magpayo was formerly art director for football management title Top Eleven 2015 at Nordeus Games.

He also holds credits on FarmVille 2 and NBA 2K14, and has worked with Disney, Warner Bros and Sony Pictures in the past.

Spil said that Magpayo’s responsibilities would include leading the creation of visual and UX elements of the studio’s various mobile games.

“Pitch perfect artwork is an essential element in mobile gaming,” explained CEO Tung Nguyen-Khac.

“Often, it can be the key to a game’s success in the app stores. Aaron brings us the skills and experience to ensure all our games are pin sharp.”

“Mobile is the place to be right now but it comes with its own set of design challenges,” Aaron added.

“I’m excited to be joining Spil Games as its mobile strategy hits full speed.”
