Duels of the Planeswalkers passes 500,000 XBLA sales; PSN edition launched

Stainless Games celebrates new sales milestone

UK indie outfit Stainless Games says it has reached a new landmark in its digital frontier, last week selling over 500,000 copies of its XBLA title Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers.

Published by Wizards of the Coast, the game is said to be one of the most commercially successful on Microsoft’s online games portal.

“Breaking the half million barrier with Duels on XBLA is a fantastic way for us to start 2011,” said Stainless Games CEO Patrick Buckland.

Recently the game had been released on Sony’s PSN platform.
