Submissions open for Independent Games Festival 2008

Independent Games Festival organiser Simon Carless has confirmed via CMP’s GameSetWatch blog that the call for entries for this year’s competition has opened.

Prizes for the 10th Annual Independent Games Festival are to be handed out in February 2008 at Game Developers Conference – the event is open to all independent developers who have until October 1st to submit their games for the main competition and October 15th for the student part of the show. This year, however, the modding part of the competition has been dropped.

Also, Flashbang Studios’ Matthew Wegner and Steve Swink have been apponted joint content directors for the IGF to help manage the expansion of the festival, which has grown significantly over the past few years; the main GDC itself for 2007 featured an Indie Games Summit.
