Substance Indie Pack currently 50 per cent off in the Steam Sale

It’s not often that we get to talk about the Steam Sale but today we can make an exception, as this one is for the developers.

Allegorithmic’s Substance packages are currently half price on Steam. The animation and modelling tools allow designers to create highly realistic photogrammetric textures. The Substance Indie Pack, aimed at smaller teams and singular animators contains three licences – Substance Bitmap 2 Material 3, Substance Designer 6 and Substance Painter 2.

If you want to see some of the work that Substance can do, we recommend having a look at the winners of Allegorithmic’s recent Meet MAT competition, where entrants used the software to create some rather interesting models for the company mascot, MAT.

Each of the tools is also available separately for a slightly lower 34 per cent discount. Another notable development tools currently in the sale is the Desktop edition of GameMaker Studio 2, which is currently discounted by 20 per cent.

If hardware is something that you’re looking for, the HTC Vive is also discounted by $50 in specific regions (although it isn’t particularly clear which regions these are) and the Steam Controller and Steam Link are also discounted.
