Swedish industry veterans form non-profit game accelerator

A group of industry veterans in Sweden have formed a new non-profit Accelerator program to support developers around the world make their games.

The initiative, called Stugan, which means ‘the cabin’ in Swedish, is an eight weeks all expenses paid program that will take place during summer next year. It will be open to 20 developers who will receive support and mentoring as they make their games at a Swedish countryside retreat. Developers will retain all the rights to their games.

Once the program ends, developers will then present their work to publishers, sponsors and investors at a Stockholm event.

Stugan’s backers include King’s Tommy Palm, Rovio’s Oskar Burman and Avalanche’s Christofer Sundberg.

Individuals or small teams can begin applying for the program in January 2015.
