New studio to work on games, VR and books

Swery launches new studio

Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro appears to have returned to the games industry, at least in part, with the launch of his new independent studio, White Owls Inc.

For the moment, Suehiro is the only team member listed on the Osaka-based White Owls Inc. website. Suehiro, best known by his moniker Swery, is known for founding Access Games, the japanese developers behind cult video game hit Deadly Premonition. Most recently, Suehiro took a year out of game development after shipping D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die after he was diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia.

Returning from treatment, he announced he leaving Access Games and perhaps the industry while he worked things out, however, it seems he’s partially back in the industry, with his new studio planning to divide their work between video games, VR and books. White Owls Inc came together in November 2016 and is currently in the middle of what Swery has described as the studio’s "first breath".

There’s no word on what form his first project will take, but we should see another announcement later.
