SmashMouth Gamesâ?? music title helps indie initiative reach double-figures

Tenth title signed at Blitz 1 UP

Blitz 1 UP has signed the tenth title in its catalogue, a 2D rhythm-based music game called Ongaku and developed by SmashMouth Games.

The title is set for worldwide PC release, with no other platform having been yet confirmed.

“We’re really looking forward to working with SmashMouth Games on bringing this fantastic new version of Ongaku to market,” says Blitz 1UP business development director Chris Swan.

“With its unique audio-based gameplay, eye-catching graphics and impressive social features, Ongaku will breathe new life into the rhythm action genre.”

SmashMouth games MD Zuby Ahmed was also pleased with the deal.

“SmashMouth Games is incredibly pleased to partner up with Blitz Games Studios. We are very excited about the release of Ongaku, which we hope people of all ages will enjoy, especially with the many customisation features the game has to offer,” Ahmed said.

“Together with our educational links with The University of Salford and being based at Futureworks Manchester School of Media, working with Blitz 1UP has helped us to appreciate the importance of the independent developer.”
