Russian art-house studio takes to crowd funding craze

The Void dev begins $30k Kickstarter campaign

Ice-Pick Lodge has joined the Kickstarter revolution in the hopes of funding the latest addition to a portfolio of some of the most unique and challenging games in recent memory.

Though the studio has recieved applause for Pandemic and The Void, the challenges facing Russian Developers have resulted in limited financial success, and little exposure in western markets.

Knock-Knock is very much an Ice-Pick game, with its dark aesthetic and wild mechanical departure from previous offering, but the developers claim the idea was not theirs.

The project page tells the story of how the studio recieved a package containing concept art and a design document with a cryptic message asking for help in making the creator’s vison come true.

It also warned the developers of the potential consequences to their mental well-being.

Is Ice-Pick serious about this? Probably not, but it’s a good yarn that has their $30,000 project halfway funded with over fourty days to go.
