Development posts go 'as required by project needs'

THQ Australia cuts 14 jobs

THQ Studio Australia has cut 14 jobs from its internal art department, without options to apply for further roles within the company.

As noted by GI.biz, these new cuts leave the studio at a headcount of around 60. Its previous focus on licensed titles may leave it in a precarious position following Danny Bilson’s recent comments about reevaluating output in that area to GameZone.com.

"We have let 14 employees go at our THQ Australia studio. In the normal course of business, we expect to adjust our workforce both up and down as required by project needs," read a company statement.
