75 per cent of workforce made redundant as publisher switches to iPhone, Android, NGage and handhelds

THQ Wireless refocuses on high-end smartphones

THQ is restructuring its mobile division to focus on high-end games for iPhone, N-Gage, PSP and DS, reports Mobile Entertainment.

Unfortunately, ME understands this has seen 75 per cent of the THQ Wireless workforce across three offices in the US and Europe made redundant, equivalent to about a hundred people.

Contrary to innacurate reports elsewhere there are still people working in the US office.

In Europe, some staff have already left, while others are remaining on board to ensure the delivery of finished and nearly-finished games.
