Association will attend this weekend's Conservative Party Conference

Tiga’s next target: the Tories

After last week lobbying Labour, Tiga is keeping up the momentum behind its political campaign – and this weekend plans to host an event at this week’s Conservative Party Conference.

Tiga wants to highlight the issues facing the UK video games industry with opposition MPs and activists and is is supporting the Northwest Regional Development Agency’s (NWRDA) fringe event, ‘Celebrating the Gaming Industry’, on Sunday 28th September.

Taking place at the Halcyon Gallery, ICC, Birmingham Tiga’s CEO Richard Wilson will be joined by Ed Vaizey MP, Conservative Shadow Culture Minister and Iain Bennett, Sector Leader, Digital and Creative Industries at the NWRDA, in speaking at the event at the event. As was the case with the campaigning at the Labour Party Conference, it’s the first time that Tiga has taken part in a fringe event at the Conservative’s similar event.

Richard Wilson, CEO of Tiga, commented: “I am delighted to have the chance to fly the flag for the UK video games industry at the Conservative Party Conference. The more that politicians understand the successes and challenges facing the video games industry, the more likely it is that we will be able to influence policy to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business.

“I would like to thank the Northwest Regional Development Agency for organising the fringe event ‘Celebrating the Gaming Industry’ at the Conservative Party Conference and for working with Tiga to raise the salience of our industry with Conservative MPs and activists.”
