Mobile studio joined by hit show's writers, animators, and voice talent

TinyCo partners with Fox for Family Guy mobile game

TinyCo and Twentieth Century Fox have teamed up to create a new Family Guy mobile game featuring the full cast of the hit animated comedy series.

The San Francisco-based mobile developer will get help from the voice actors, animators, and writers that bring the show to life to create an original story that takes from both the 212 episode catalogue and current events.

“Family Guy is an amazing show that’s famous for its sharp wit, unpredictable storytelling, and hilarious cast of characters,” said TinyCo CEO Suli Ali.

“We’re capturing that essence and providing players with an awesome way to get their Family Guy fix every day.”

Previous attempts to spin Family Guy into an interactive game have met with only middling success, but Fox Digital Entertainment senior vice president Rick Phillips is confident this game will be a winner.

"Mobile platforms are a new frontier for engaging with your favorite characters and worlds," said Phillips.

"With over more than a decade on the air, Family Guy has built a world like no other with some of the most beloved characters in entertainment today. This game will bring the best of the Family Guy experience to mobile gamers all over the world."

This is TinyCo’s first licensed game, and follows a $20 million round of funding for the studio that CEO Ali said would help the studio hire new talent a bring deeper experiences to mobile gamers.

Since the game’s setting is deep only in its irreverence, the best guess is that TinyCo hopes to accomplish the rare feat of creating a comedy game that’s both funny and fun.

TinyCo is known for games like Tiny Monsters and iOS collectible card game Spellstorm and recently picked up Develop columnist and free-to-play guru Will Luton as well as adding ArenaNet co-founder Mike O’Brien to its board.
