Traplight closes $2.7 million funding round

Mobile games outfit Traplight has announced today that it has completed its latest funding round, closing on $2.7 million of funding. The company are planning to use the newly acquired funds to scale up the team and develop new mobile titles.

Traplight is focused on user-generated content games, their first title is Big Bang Racing, which was launched in July 2016, ended up as one of the App Store’s best of 2016. It currently has over 7.3 million levels created by its players.

The funding round was led by VC investor Korea Investment Partner, including some of the company’s previous investors, Sunstone Capital and Finnvera.

"Traplight is doing something remarkable by bringing player created content and levels into the core of the gaming experience. We are impressed by their vision and dedication to making something new in the mobile games space. Big Bang Racing is a great first example of what the team is set up to do, and we are excited to see their future games in action," Said Korea Investment Partners’ director Sang-Ho Park.
