MMO publisher to take on Lineage creator's ArcheAge

Trion partners with XLGames

XLGames has signed a deal giving Trion Worlds exclusive publishing rights for ArcheAge in western markets.

ArcheAge, created by Jake Song of Lineage fame, is the new MMO in development at the South Korean studio.

Trion will host the game on its Red Door platform in North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Trion Worlds, a company who is setting a new standard for gaming by embracing original, high-quality IPs on a dynamic connected platform,” said XLGames CEO and founder Jake Song.

“We are impressed with Trion’s track record as they have consistently delivered against an unwavering vision; we are confident partnering with Trion will help bring ArcheAge a successful game that satisfies audience both in East and West.”

The fantasy sandbox world of ArcheAge has reportedly been in development for six years, with two years of closed testing.

Trion has been busy in recent months adding titles to the Red Door platform- a publishing and development option providing proprietary toolsets and server architecture.

The publisher recently signed a deal with Crytek to publish its first free-to-play venture, Warface.
