MMO firm welcomes former NCsoft and Sony Online Entertainment bosses

Trion snaps up two high-profile execs

MMO group Trion has enlisted the services of both David Reid and Scott Hartsman, two veteran games industry executives who will be sworn in to take the roles of senior vice president of publishing and chief creative officer.

The CEO of Trion World Network, Lars Buttler, said that Reid and Hartsman were “dream additions” to the company.

"Their online gaming expertise and proven track record will help propel Trion ahead from technology development to content and publishing,” he said.

David Reid, who will be the group’s new senior vice president of publishing, has been working in the industry for more than a decade. His previous job was at NCsoft West, where he led publishing efforts across six live MMO businesses. Prior to this he worked at GameTap and Microsoft’s Xbox division.

Scott Hartsman – who joins Trion as new chief creative officer and general manager of the company’s Redwood Shores Studio – has over two decades of experience behind him.

Hartsman formerly worked at Sony Online Entertainment, where he once held key positions throughout the EverQuest franchise, including managing the massive EverQuest II team.
