Online games studio makes three top-level hires in build up to spate of releases

Trion Worlds expands management team

US online games developer and publisher Trion Worlds has hired three new management staff.

Christopher Yates becomes the new SVP platform and technology, Lisa Bell-Cabrera takes on the role of VP of sales and Ricardo Sanchez will serve as VP of digital.

Trion has stated that the hires are part of an expansion in the build-up to three key releases for the firm, beginning with MMO Rift: Planes of Telara, due for release next year.

“As we prepare to launch the first of three premium games we looked to expand our executive team with industry experts that will help Trion lead the next era of interactive entertainment,” said Trion Worlds CEO Lars Buttler.

The new Trion staff boast a wealth of industry experience, Yates having served at Sony and a stint as CTO at EA; Bell-Cabrera having held management positions at Ncsoft, Go Daddy and Atari; and Sanchez having seen through duty with GameTap.com and the IGN website network, having co-founded the latter.
